Takeshima

Absolutely beautiful, green, serene, peaceful and scenic place! Don’t miss this in Gamagori. Walking around the island and visiting Yaotomi shrine was therapeutic! I watched the sunset and sat there lost in the sound of the waves hitting the island. Gamagori is beautiful ❤️

40 minutes by train from Nagoya plus 20/25 minutes walking from the station. A very beautiful island, a religious site. Calm and relaxing atmosphere. Lots of eagles on one side of the shore (amazing).

Takeshima Island is the main tourist attraction in the city of Gamagori and was declared a National Natural Monument on August 25, 1930. The place is nice but not much things to do. You can actually walk around the island along the sea. One good thing ab here is its spiritual meaning. If any couple walk thru the bridge, it is believed that they will end up together forever.

A quiet tiny island (I'd call it a mound, really) with its own foot bridge. At night the bridge is lit by amber-coloured lampposts. The small shrine on top is also lit, but has a eerie atmosphere, would recommend!
