An unforgettable train trip. I booked the train online without much expectation and thought it might be a tourist trap. Turned out it was not. The train was on time and clean. I truly enjoyed the whole journey, scenery and the atmosphere where people just admired the great views together. I thought it one of the best travel experiences of a lifetime. All in all a stunning journey! It is well worth it to take this train.

We went here last week and took around 20.minutes from the Torokko Saga Station to Kameoka Station. The scenery along the train ride is magnificent too bad we visited this place during the early summer if it's during the autumn season the view along the way would have been more beautiful.

Lucky enough to be at the right side of the train. We get the chance to capture the scenic view. Highly recommended to purchase online for a special discount. However, it is not an easy process. The price is so expensive but it was a great experience for kids. Overall, it is not worth it.

Scenery was good but overated. We took the train from Arashiyama Torokko station to Kameoka... My opinion is that the train ride is overrated, maybe cos is in June, besides river n "mountain" there is nothing else... Take note most scenic view is on the left for this route, the other way round if from kameoka to Arashiyama n they suggested car 5 with the open windows n take note too that they do not allow U to stand... Total waste of time, maybe it will be beautiful during winter/ sakura months??? Maybe???

This train is a lot of fun and can easily be included in a day trip to the Kyoto Sagano district, alongside the bamboo grove and the Tenryu-ji temple. The train runs back and forth every 30 minutes between two stations and the ride last around 28 minutes (so one train per hour for any given direction). We booked this a month ahead since it can get busy during cherry blossom season. The train for our particular slot was full so several groups of people who attempted to purchased tickets were turned down.
