Seems that hasedera is popular among locals since we didnt see many foreigners during our visit. It was located in nara and approx 1-2 hours from Kyoto. So, it can be alternative to escape the crowded kyoto. View is majestic but too bad we arrived during the tail end of sakura season. It must be beautiful during the peak of sakura and also imagine the view during autumn~~

Such a beautiful temple to visit in Nara. A classic beauty! Hasedera has a very peaceful atmosphere, and surprisingly not crazily crowded with people, even during the peak sakura blossom. Although it is a bit far from Nara park, the main attraction of Nara, you won't be disappointed if you take the time and effort to visit Hasedera. Super beautiful. Definitely a strong recommendation for a visit

Another stunning temple a short drive from Nara. Famous for its covered walkways and 9m statue of Kannon

Less crowded temple with magnificent architecture. Really worth seeing. If you are coming from mie matsusaka as I did, take osaka uehonmachi express train and get off at hasedera station. It’s about 10~15 min walk from the station. You can even get a taxi at the station. Don’t forget to walk around the site not just the main temple.

Such a calming and relaxing experience! Hardly any tourists made the place feel like we had the whole place to yourself. Stunning view of the town.
