The most unique temple that I have ever come across and it's stunning in person as well! It seemed slightly smaller than in the pictures but that didn't matter when you got up close to it and got all the beautiful angles! The gold colour is really vibrant and it's definitely a must visit! NOTE: The tickets were about 500 YEN and we bought them at the gate.

This is a popular tourist spot in Kyoto that you "must visit". I came early in the morning to avoid the crowds during the day, and I'm glad I did. It was nice to be able to look around at my own pace. The temple decorated with gold is unique, but it didn't feel particularly special or mysterious. It felt more like a typical tourist attraction that many people visit. It's worth visiting once, but I'm not sure if it's worth visiting twice. However, I recommend walking around the temple grounds as if you were taking a walk in the surrounding area. The scenery is beautiful and the garden is well maintained. I recommend enjoying the surrounding scenery rather than the temple itself.

This is a beautiful temple with wonderful grounds. It is another UNESCO site in Kyoto, and it's a must-see attraction. The grounds are very well maintained, and walking around the grounds gives you several excellent camera angles of the Golden building. It gets super crowded, so try to get there early in the morning (plus the light is better for photos.

Gorgeous place to visit if you are in Kyoto. The entrance fee is ¥500 (~ $3.50) but only cash. The interior is nice but nothing that blows out 🤯your mind, definitely is a building prettier from the outside. The grounds around the temple are quite picturesque though, with many beautiful spots. Totally worth a visit for sure. I recommend getting early in the morning to avoid crowds

The temple looks amazing, but it is extremely crowded. Fortunately it is well organized so even in case of a huge queue, you can get in relatively quickly. We came here on a weekday around 10am, and it was already very crowded which definitely makes it more challenging to enjoy the view.
