Purchase a ticket and ride on a shuttle bus to the river area within 15 minutes. Afterwards you get to enjoy the sights of the riverside, the jungles to pass, and bridges to duck under. Our boat captain sung songs along the way making it super entertaining. There’s also a great treat on board — ice cup, to cool us off, with fruity flavors because we went on a hot day. It was such a pleasant experience with funny moments along the route.

We walk-in to purchase the boat tickets without any hassle..In less than 10 minutes, we were told to board a bus which bring us to another place to take a boat ride. Hats are freely available from the scorching sun. The boat ride was fun and interesting. Experience of cruising through the long narrow canal & how hard & skillful the boatman tried to canoe against the current. Somebody dropped her hph into the river & the boatman tried to retrieve it but in vain. The scenery was not fasantic as there was really nothing to see because we were there at the wrong season.

Great experience when visiting yanagawa. There is a shuttle to take you to the tour offices when you arrive in Yanagawa by train. Just take the east exit and look for the tour van. The prices varies depending on which of the 3 companies you take. The tour lasted about 1 hour with a stop at a drive through ice cream stand. After the tour we were given a map with instructions to the shuttle bus to bring you back to either the tour office or train station. Do yourself a favor and use the QR code because the map picture will get you lost. I would recommend this excursion when visiting Yanagawa.

We walked in and it was a short wait for the next ride! ~15mins. The ride is only in Japanese language but I still enjoyed it. The boat staff was entertaining and also sang some folk songs! Nice quiet chill vibes along the canals. Would have been nicer if the sakuras were in full bloom.

Yanagawa boat canals was one of the things i really wanted to do when I visited Fukuoka but I should have waited until the flowers bloomed in April because there's not much to see in March. 1. Tours are not available in English at this particular place so you will be bored out of your mind after the first five minutes. 2. You will start to feel lower back pain after 30 minutes (total 1hour tour). Also smelly shoes are passed on to you (u have to take off your shoes) if you sit in the front or the very back. 3. Ticket costs are 1,800yen person so if you are a family of four then the cost adds up a quite. 4. Recommend during spring and fall. Other reviews say you get scorched from the sun and bitten by mosquitoes in the summer. Bring a hat!
