There is an entrance fee and there are English documents to read to help you understand the antiques inside the temple. Photography is not allowed inside the temple and the climb up to the temple is quite steep, but it is worth a visit.

The steps are 108 deep slope upward. Good exercise. Stunning view from the top of the hill: the shrine. We are stopped by the shrine police: he says no photo for the shrine. Although few took them I did not. He told us: Engravings by Jingoro Hidari on the front door depicting hunting hawks and pheasant (symbolize the samurai (hawks) hunting for the pheasant.) Engravings of dragons and tigers on the front four poles. And how the carps become dragon: means success for you (鯉躍龍門 or 登龍門) Shrine hall decorated with carvings of animals such as cranes and murals by Kano Tanyu Crane and turtle are symbolized with long life. Shrine police had many stories. You should consult with him.

View from top not as good as the neighbouring shrine. 300 yen to enter. Very detailed cravings to look at.

Pleasant elevated shrine complex, located nearby Wakaura Tenman-gu Shrine, and not as impressive. Entry fee of ¥300 for less wow. Still worth a visit though.

Beautiful shrine. Steep uneven steps, so watch yourself, but it's worth the climb.
