There is a beach that is said to be the oldest bathing beach in Japan. It is about a 15-minute walk from JR Futamiura Station. There is a free parking lot for about 30 cars along the beach.

Several jetties jut out along the coastline, and you can walk to the tip. There was a fence (handrail) on the jetty on the Meotoiwa side, and many people went there. There are no fences on the other jetties. However, the second jetty from the Meoto Iwa side was built so that you could walk to the tip, and there were hardly any people, so I was able to take my time and enjoy the view of the ocean. I went on a Saturday around 5pm, and was able to park right away in the free parking lot. You can immediately go to the Meotoiwa side jetty from the free parking lot. There were many people sitting on the concrete steps and looking out at the sea. It's a spot where you can relax.
