Udo Jingu

Very pretty shrine built into the side of a cave on a cliff facing the ocean. For 200 yen you can try to throw five clay beads into a rock in the coast with a hole in it, for good luck. Very fun and interesting place.

I liked this one better than Aoshima shrine. Here you’ll need a small walk of 15-20 minutes from the parking lot to the main shrine. The construction of it in between the rocks and next to the see gives it a mysterious vibe.

Worth the visit, especially no admission fee. There is a parking lot entrance that makes the walking a lot closer. For us it was closed and we walked a good 15 plus minutes to get to the temple. The view is nice and worth checking out.

Beautiful shrine in a lovely seaside setting. A little bit of a walk in the August heat but totally worth it and you can recover in the air con cafe with a cold drink and a cream puff (aka profiterole) afterwards.

What an amazing place. Beware of the route to arrive at the shrine has many stairs but definitely worth visiting.
