The place where volcanic gas, steam, and hot spring water gushes out is called a ``hell'' in Unzen Onsen, and this place is also one of those Unzen hells, with steam and volcanic gas rising from everywhere on the ground. From a distance, you can't tell if it's cold water or hot water, but water is piling up here and there, and gas is gushing out of it, making it look as if it's boiling, and you can also hear the sound of gas popping.
Although it is not as spewing out steam as spectacularly as Seishichi Hell, it is located higher up and has a good view, so I think it is quite a sight to see when you combine it with the view.
I am traveling in a national park by car.

Just walk here! ! wide! ! Tired (lol)
But it's worth it and the ground also has underfloor heating.
Also, for some reason there are a lot of cats, they are everywhere (lol)
I just had a crab bite, so I gave it to you (lol)
Unzen Jigoku Hot Spring: Although it is not very famous abroad, nor is it one of the top ten hot springs in Japan, it is actually worth a visit!
Unzen Jigoku Hot Spring Area is located on a mountain. The landscape is very unique, the environment is beautiful and quiet (no foreign tourists are seen, especially VIPs from a major country in East Asia), the air is first-class, and when walking on the hot spring trail, you will see a lot of smoke and strange screams. The sound comes from the mouth of the spring (there are many hot springs spewing smoke, but there are very few screams, which is why the name hell is probably derived); the water quality in the spring area is rare and there are sulfur hot springs, the water quality is good, you can expect a comfortable soak; there are other scenic spots If you want to go on a wild trip, the door will be closed early (this is the same as the D shop in Nagasaki Prefecture with the same attractions). It is recommended not to arrive too late, especially after mid-December and winter starts to get dark very quickly; in short, it is definitely worth visiting from Nagasaki City. Let’s take a long trip to the center to experience it: At that time, the order of the 8-day itinerary was Nagasaki, tourist bus > Sasebo, JR train > Isahaya Station, Shima Railway Bus > Unzen > Nagasaki; the bus terminal opposite JR Isahaya Station, take the island The Tetsubus goes straight to Unzen, but the frequency is very small, so be careful; the bus line runs along the coast and along the mountains, so you can enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way.
Tips: If the weather is good and you have plenty of time, you can take the cable car up to the top of the mountain to visit in the morning (if you are in a hurry to get out of the city that day, just go up the mountain to the left for a short section and go to the mountain road in the direction of the cable car station. There are many wild grasses along the road. It’s beautiful, and looking back at the endless scenery at the bottom of the mountain makes you infinitely more comfortable). If you are looking for a budget-friendly accommodation, you can choose to stay at "Yubai" (I think they are very tall and large). You don't have to stay in a Japanese-style hotel, but you will still have a happy and unforgettable trip.
