Beautiful and quiet park in the middle of the city. Perfect for some exercise or even a short beginner hike.

I went for a walk to Mt. Shuki to pay my respects to Asama-san. The promenade and stairs were well maintained and it was a good exercise.

I stayed at Smile Hotel Shizuoka and went to visit the shrine early in the morning. We passed through the shopping street on the approach, visited several shrines, and headed for the Kannon statue on top of the mountain (171 meters above sea level). All the Shizuoka citizens passing by greeted me pleasantly, sometimes even talked to me, and even took part in the morning radio exercise for a little while (I did it at the Kannon statue). I felt a lively and positive life as I saw people of all ages training both physically and mentally. Thank you for inviting me to radio gymnastics.

On the way up from Shizuoka Sengen Shrine to the north. There was a mix of people hiking, trekking, and people like myself who wanted to climb a little while visiting the shrine's Okunoin. Some people are doing trail runs by lightly manipulating the poles. The visibility was good and I never felt like I was going deep into the mountains. It is well maintained, but the earthworks are made of fake wood and are tall, and the steps are not the same width, so I had to watch my step when climbing. The best part is seeing Mt. Fuji through the trees. It seems like a hiking course that is easy to challenge since the altitude is not high.

It's a short walk along a gentle mountain path, but the view from the top is spectacular. If you have time, there are ancient tombs nearby, so I think it would be a good idea to go see them and then visit Sengen Shrine, which is also nearby, on your way back.
