I went via the cycling route from Ogori, the table land was vast and although it was a weekend it wasn't crowded at all. There are benches to sit and enjoy the view. They have clean toilets as well, but I only found japanese toilets for women🥲

First large cave complex I've ever visited anywhere, and the scale was astounding. The lighting was dramatic and intriguing. The walkway was mostly pretty easy to navigate. The river flowing through and out the magnificent entrance was beautiful. A significant highlight was about 2/3 through there was an elevator to the surface (with a cafe), giving a break to the darkness, and a chance to sit in the sunshine to return and appreciate the caves refreshed. Concern for the effect on the ecology of cave life was shown by ongoing testing , but still too many people were allowed in on that day to only a deleterious effect.

Today is the Japanese public holiday. I rushed for coming here from Tokyo. It was so big to have a trip by walk in a day. But I was satisfied because I could watch the biggest Karst area in Japan. This area is connected with Akiyoshi Cave too.

There's plenty of parking space, quite a few cafés and I really enjoyed the nice view!! It's definitely worth the visit!

Had a great experience around Akiyoshidai. Beautiful scenery. Must check out the view points and caves around with the wildlife safari. I made a day trip from Hiroshima to Yamaguchi prefecture
