I visited on a Sunday at 10 o'clock. I wasn't sure where to park, so I parked at the Saka Shrine parking lot and came here after visiting the shrine. The building itself has a solid structure that gives you a sense of history. I found an apricot leaf pattern on the bench outside. Admission fee is 300 yen. It's cheap. The exhibit includes a wide variety of items related to the Nabeshima family. The bonbonnières lined up in a row were so cute. There was Kunihiro Horikawa's wakizashi (named Rakuyo), but I think it was a little hard to see the skin due to the lighting.

3/10/2024 Saga Castle Doll's Festival🎎For the first time during the event. The Chokokan parking lot was full and I had to park in the Saka Shrine parking lot. The 1st floor had Hina dolls, Hina utensils, and souvenirs, and the 2nd floor had an exhibition of tea flowers, koto performances (Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays), collections by Nabeshima Naoyasu, and a miniature car display. It was OK to take photos, so I'll attach them. The Doll's Festival is being held until March 20th.

24th Saga Castle Hinamatsuri🎎(2/10-3/20) [Nabeshima Family Doll's Festival] is being held at Chokokan On the first floor, the doll decorations and doll utensils of the Nabeshima family's wife are displayed, and the many delicately crafted furniture items are wonderful, and each one has a name tag, so you can learn the names of the tools from the Heian period. It also gave me an opportunity to learn about. There are also exhibits of Genji incense paintings and shell-matching tools, allowing you to learn more about the elegant games of the Heian period. If the timing is right, there is also a koto concert held on the second floor, so it was a great place to spend some time. Chokokan is a paid area and can be entered with an A ticket (500 yen) or a common ticket.
