Lovely place to be at sunset! Awesome to see the sun setting over the city on one side, and when you turn 180° the other way, you can look out over the cape at the Pacific Ocean beyond. Although we were not blessed with clear blue skies on the day we visited, we were instead treated to the view of some dolphins swimming around in the distance. Worth a visit if you happen to be in the town nearby.

Great place to stop by if you have time while in the area. There is no cost to see the lighthouse except for transportation to get there. I took a taxi and it cost about ¥1,700 from the Muroran Station. You won't be able to go inside the lighthouse or close up to it. There is an observation platform that overlooks the lighthouse and cliffside. There is also a decent view of the city. At the arrival point there are a few shops that were open. A couple places to grab some food items and a small souvenir shop. The shop owners are very friendly and polite. There was no wait or large crowd and you can see all that is there in under 20-30 minutes.

This observatory has a great view. Be sure to ring the lucky bell. Wish the world is peace and no war forever.🌷🎊

The view here was great. There was a bell for you to ring, which was stated that it will bring you happiness. It's free! So do ring it if you're there!

If you are driving from Noribetsu to Hakodate, strongly recommend that you take a slight detour off to Cape Chikyu to really CHECK-KYU out. A windy coast with an attraction built. You are expected to spend around 30-45 minutes here before quickly moving on to your next attraction. Giving it is slightly off the gird, did not see that many tourist here as well :)
