Equestrian Statue of Date Masamune

Must-go place in Sendai. I travel to Sendai for 3 days and here is a good spot. But it’s super cold in this season, so prepare your thick jacket and gloves. It was a good hiking tho Date Masamune was a very powerful warrior that day.

Snowy afternoon spent up at this statue. Caught the city loop bus up from the mausoleum. The bus was crowded but worth it. Lots of photo opportunities as well as some local actors who must have been employed to dress in historical gear for visitors to take photos with. Food options are available up there. Great views over Sendai.

The must visit place in Sendai, you can observe the view of Sendai city from above and there also a shrine nearby the monument. You can take a loop bus to get here, but the bus is really small and crowded, it’s might take sometime to get here and get out.

The view of Sendai City from this place is great, a quiet place and since its still winter not much greeny scenery. All in all the view is good but I didn’t aquire much about who is Date Masamune, sorry ‘bout that
