This is the historical free ferry service (subject to any water levels after typhoon and wind gusts) for the past 300 years

good. It's really good. I had no idea that there was a ferry boat that added elegance and emotion to such a familiar place and evoked the spirit of travel. I wanted to visit a hut in Kawakita, so I took the Gifu bus and got off at the ``One Day Market'' bus stop and walked for about 12 minutes. The boatman this time was the eldest of the four. Apparently he is 87 years old. Aikawa had a long chat with me before boarding the ship (lol). I guess it can't be helped since I'm waiting alone in the hut. I also had a lot of fun listening to various stories. Kobeni Ferry is part of the prefectural road, so it's free. I'm also grateful for this. It's not just a place for locals and prefectural residents to visit, but recently tourists have been coming here as well. It's also a beautiful sight to see Gifu Castle in the distance from the river surface under clear skies. I want to ride it again. (2023_07_07)

I've known about the ``Kobeni no Watari'' since I lived in Gifu for work about two years ago, but I had never actually used it. I just wanted to visit it, so I visited it a few years ago when I was in Gifu. From Gifu Station, take a bus to the "One Day Market" on the north shore (buses run about once every hour), walk for about 10 minutes to the pier on the north shore, take a ferry to the south shore, visit Kagamijima Kobo, and return. I did. From Kobo Kagamijima, I took a bus (there are far more buses here) and returned to Gifu Station. . The ferry ride itself doesn't take much time, but the Nagara River is clear so it's nice. The ship was not a "turret" but a power boat. The boatman was a woman, which is also a good thing. I also went to Tokyo's ``Yakiri no Watashi'', but it was a sightseeing boat. This is part of the prefectural road, so is it still a community road? Since it is a prefectural road, there is no charge for the boat.

There is a waiting hut for the boatman on the embankment on the side of the day market. There is no parking lot. There was space to park several cars under the embankment on the Kagami Island side. I think this means that it is a prefectural road and not a sightseeing boat. There is a guide posted on the embankment at the end of the approach to Kagamijima Kobo. There is a path that goes up the embankment and leads neatly to the ferry terminal. As I was wondering whether to wave the white flag to signal boarding or not, the boatman came out of the hut and asked, ``Do you want to board?'' I answered it. It's less than 100m away so your voice can be heard. It only takes about a minute to enjoy a conversation with the friendly boatman. It was a quick voyage. It has a capacity of 10 people and can accommodate bicycles. (Perhaps the stairs are a problem?) On the way back, I walked across the lower Ado Bridge. It took about 40 minutes walking slowly. Hurray for the ferry!

On a clear autumn day, you can see the Nagara River flowing quietly through the pampas grass. When you press the call button, a ferry boat will slowly arrive from the opposite shore. Board the ferry and enjoy the pleasant breeze of the Nagara River after a few minutes of voyage. A ferry boat that has been around since the Edo period, the elegant Kobeni Ferry
