Excellent little aquarium that’s not too big or too small. Cute and short seal show. And the displays are well organized. Never knew jelly fish could be so beautiful. A great break from the heat on the island. 1420¥ per person.

The aquarium is tucked just west of the Itsukoshi Shrine. Though small, it is really good for its aquatic exhibits and there is also a cute sea lion show happening every 2-3 hours at the live pool outside, it is short and lasts 15 minutes, though lots of action. A small eatery is on the second floor to have a snack. You’ll need to follow the signs to get there, as the aquarium is pretty tucked in.

Nice and clean. You need to buy a ticket for a time slot, however you can buy these at the entrance but you might need to wait an hour before you timeslot comes up which is what we did rather than buying online. I loved all the different jellyfish displays... Not something I'd seen elsewhere. You get to see most of the exhibits on multiple levels so don't need to line up as soon as you enter as there are more opportunities to see otters and whale sharks as you move along.

A great aquarium with easy access to ferry and Itsukushima Shrine. This aquarium offers sea otter shows at 10:30,13:00 and 15:30. The aquarium has different fish species as well as frogs, crabs, lobsters and even roaches! This aquarium has lots to do, with a cafe on 2nd floor. Tickets are not too expensive, I recommend this landmark!

A relatively small aquarium, not much species, so I will not recommend it to those without sufficient time on the island. However, if you will spend the whole day or even 2 days on the island and are animal fans, then it may be worthy to spend a few hours to have a walk. There were marvelous shows and performances by well trained animals, and you can have a chance to take photos with cute penguins at a very close distance!
