This was a great hike and spectacular views. We completed the big loop in just over an hour but you need good footwear and something to keep the mosquitos away. There were patches where the trail was difficult with wash outs and steep climbs and descents. Bring some water it is thirsty work.

Nice place with short hike. 16 big rocks in 1-2 hours of easy hiking. The maps are very good. Stairs are very helpful.

Great park for short family hiking. Big stones in a forest are more impressive in reality than in photos. Parking 300 yen.

Entrance fee was 300 yen, and we toured the megalithic park, including Mt. Shimoda and Mt. Kanashiki Shiroyama. The distance is 3.3km and the altitude difference is 400m. The trip took approximately 2.5 hours. Megalithic Park is a spot characterized by huge groups of stones scattered in a mountain surrounded by rich nature. There are 17 groups of megaliths dotted around the mountain, each of which has a different meaning, such as ``Frog Stone'', ``Eboshi Stone'', and ``Amaiwato''. These megalithic formations are said to be one of the leading power spots in Kyushu. Business hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. However, entry to the megalithic walking path is until 4:00 p.m.

Although the mountain itself is low, it is quite difficult to walk along a sloped mountain path. The steps on the stairs are about knee height. There are a lot of really big rocks. It's worth the climb. There are holes, so it's surprisingly cool when you enter. It is strange that there are offering boxes everywhere. But it's a place I'd like to go to again. If you don't dress appropriately, it will be a little difficult to wear casual clothes.
