I came by bicycle on a midsummer day. Maybe it was because of the heat that I didn't have cash so I couldn't make a normal decision if I couldn't buy a drink (?) I couldn't buy the drinks that were sold here lol I wanted to drink strawberry cider. You can get a manhole card at the storehouse on the right after entering the main gate. There were no particular questionnaires to fill out. The toilet is clean and has a good reputation I'm glad it's a place where the difference in style is clearly visible.

We arrived at the Kubo Memorial Tourism and Cultural Exchange Center. Before the building of the Kubo Memorial Tourism and Cultural Exchange Center was renovated, it was called the Kubo Residence because it was owned by the Kubo family. This area is a so-called Monzen town, surrounded by three temples that were built in conjunction with the construction of Moka Castle in 1347. During the Taisho and Showa periods, it was a vibrant and lively area with restaurants and geisha houses. It was the area where I was. However, with the changes, many buildings have been lost, and the only remaining buildings that remind us of the good old days of the Meiji, Taisho, and Showa eras are the city-owned Okabe Memorial Museum "Kanasuzuso" and the "Kubo Residence." It was. Under such circumstances, the city received an offer from the Kubo family and other related parties to transfer the building on the assumption that it would be preserved, and the city decided to transfer the building to the Kubo House, which contains valuable historical buildings from the Meiji and Taisho periods. '' as an asset to be passed on to the next generation, and the ``Kubo Memorial Tourism and Cultural Exchange Center'' has been developed as a new tourist and cultural base facility for Moka City with a variety of functions. The toilet is also nice. I entered the art exhibition hall. The old stone storehouse has been renovated and turned into a stylish art museum. The paintings on display are not to my liking, but it's a beautiful building and free of charge.

There is a parking lot 🅿️ (Moka city walk parking lot, free) nearby, which is very convenient for sightseeing in this Monzen area. I visited Moka City on Monday, September 20, 2021 while walking around the city. Unfortunately, we are unable to tour the facility due to the state of emergency being declared ( ´△`) Admission is free🆓, and the following facilities are available on the premises. ① Kubo Memorial Hall (Moka City Registered Cultural Property) ②Art Exhibition Hall (stone storehouse called “Kubo Atelier”) ③Tourist product center ④Tourist town development center (sea cucumber wall storehouse) ⑤Trattoria Kokoro (Italian restaurant) ⑥ Monument ``Fireplace'' ``This fireplace is the only existing structure in the ``Kubo Gallery'', which was built in 1944 and designed by Arata Endo. *Arata Endo A close disciple of American architect Dr. Frank Lloyd Wright, known as the designer of the Imperial Hotel, and the designer of the Kubo Auditorium (a nationally registered tangible cultural property). ”

I was able to take a look at the SL Mooka tour by adjusting the time. It also served as the Kubo Memorial Museum Tourist Association, with a Moka cotton loom on display on the first floor and an exhibition space on the second floor. Also, there are new souvenir shops on the same premises, and there is also a museum in the back, all of which you can visit for free. According to research, before the building of the Kubo Memorial Tourism and Cultural Exchange Center was renovated, it was called the Kubo Residence because it was owned by the Kubo family. Letters, photographs, manuscripts, and collected works of art left behind by art critic Teijiro Kubo are on display. The memorial hall is made of Oya stone and is located in the former Kubo family store. The main buildings are a memorial hall, a product hall, and an art museum. There is a parking lot on the premises, but it can only accommodate 4 or 5 cars, so it would be better to park at the Moka City Machiwari parking lot about 100m south. The pamphlet, website, and site all have "unfriendly parking information", so it's difficult for non-locals to understand 😤 I would like Moka City to clarify this further.
