This is my first sightseeing in Kofu city. As you walk towards Toki no Kane from the Fujison Memorial Museum, you will see a gate that has been beautifully restored. If it's the Kofu Castle ruins, it must be on the other side of the railroad tracks...I see, the castle grounds were separated by the railroad tracks. If so, you can imagine how large Kofu Castle was. The larger of the two gates, Yamate Watari Yagura Gate, has an exhibition hall on the second floor and is free to enter. I was impressed that there are many facilities in Kofu that can be viewed for free, including the Fujison Memorial Museum that I visited earlier. There is also a man in the exhibition hall who will give explanations. There is also a space where you can change into slippers from inside and go outside, which is a nice observation spot to view the area around the station.

I happened to find it when I parked in the parking lot on the north side of the station with my sights set on Kofu Castle. It is a magnificent gate, and the upper part is also used as a museum. This is a place you would want to see together with Kofu Castle.

This is a place where you can clearly see that Kofu Castle was divided by the railroad tracks. Yamate Gomon is a reconstruction based on the original stone wall. The inside of Yamate Watari Yagura Gate is an exhibition room, displaying tiles and ceramics unearthed during excavations, a miniature model of Yamate Watari Yagura Gate, and historical materials from the Edo period. There aren't that many people even on weekends, so you can take a leisurely stroll.

☆The northern entrance to Kofu Castle's "Shimizu Kuruwa" "Yamate Gomon" = "Yamate Gate (old-style Komamon)/approx. 5.9 m in height + Yamate Watari Yagura Gate/approx. 11.4 m in height" is a "Masugata" that turns right from the outside Forming a “tiger mouth”, a very strict and firm stance ⚔️ The entire area was developed into a historical park based on part of the stone wall found during the excavation, the earthworks and stone walls were recreated on the ruins of the castle that had been destroyed by urban development, and the Korai Gate and Yagura Gate were constructed using ancient construction methods based on literature and castle maps. I could clearly see that they are focusing on restoring the entire restored Toraguchi and Kofu Castle ruins 😄 There is a historical park with a lawn and walking paths near JR Kofu Station, and there are several stylish stores across the road from the park, making it a place for residents to relax. There are also several parking lots nearby🚙
