Absolutely beautiful! My friend and I came here for Setsubon in February and had so much fun watching the ceremony despite the cold. There are lots of different fortunes for under 500¥. The temple is located near the bus center and is a close walk to many restaurants and convenience stores. A must see if you’re in Morioka.

Very cool, and not nearly as crowded as Tokyo and Kyoto shrines. Beautiful grounds. We actually saw two wild boars running like hell to get somewhere (so be careful and don’t leave children unattended).

Beautiful shrine, lots of charms available, not too busy! I’ve been to many shrines across Japan and this is unexpectedly one of my favorite now :)

Beautiful shrine was worth the walk, not many people here was a relaxing vibe, if only I came when the weather was a bit better.

Very cool and beautiful shrine with many Kami. Rebuilt in the 2000's but faithfully recreated (As all great shrines are). Definitely worth a visit. If you are lucky and it's not too busy, you might be able to see some Serow walking through.
