It was one of the best museums I went to. They have 4 different languages in each explanation section. The fee is only 500 yen for adults.

Great experience. Visiting an old mine but very well adapted. 14 degrees inside and most of the explication are also in English

Good Historical site for the whole family. Entrance fee is less than ¥500 to go through the gold mine. There is an electronic guide offering 4 different languages including English and robotic miners. Inside the mine is a little cold and wet. You can sift for gold flakes and go on the chair lift and slider for additional cost.

I stopped by because I was going to go into the mine. It was located about 20 kilometers away from Kurihara City Hall. Since I visited during the Obon period, there was an event going on. Most of the customers were families with children. As you can see in the photo, there were 300 empty canteras handmade by children on display inside the mine shaft. It was very beautiful. Sorry it's hard to convey in the photo. During the mine, I enjoyed explanations using puppets and announcements. I think I walked for about 20 minutes. It's a chilly 14 degrees inside, so it's best to bring a jacket.

The temperature in the mine shaft is 15 to 16 degrees Celsius throughout the year. It's cold without thin long sleeves. I learned a lot by watching and listening to the museum next to the shop and the explanations inside the mine shaft. I once again realized that our current lives are possible because of the miners, and I am grateful for them.
