One of the must-visit tourist attractions in Kagoshima is the cape, which is filled with fairy tale stories and offers stunning scenery. The cape itself is calm and lovely. You can see the volcano and the sea from a really nice spot near the water.

It's a bit pity came here on a rainy day. Views should be very nice with Sunny weather. The whole area is well kept, clean with shops and toilets.

Come for the lighthouse, stay for the nekos. Parking was either 100 yen, or buy something from the store. Lighthouse was great, and you could see a lot of stars. There were a few cat colonies and they were well looked after. I had cat treats in my pocket and they seemed to enjoy those too!

Definitely must come!! The views are great. If you are driving, the staff from the shops will escort you to their car park but you must buy something from them. We bought a drink from one of the shops.

Not the true southern tip of Kyushu, but worth visiting nonetheless. The views are spectacular with the picturesque Mount Kaimondake volcano in the distance. I imagined my experience would be lessened if the place was crammed with tourists but fortunately, the cape was almost deserted when I was there. The weather wasn’t perfect, but the awesome views accompanied by strong sea winds is still an exciting experience.
