In the past, there was a small pond about 200 meters above this pond on the west side. Although it is small, it has an abundant amount of water, and the water from the spring looks like crabs blowing bubbles, and because there are many river crabs living nearby, it came to be known as Crab Pond. The source of this spring water is the flowing water of the Mitaki River that permeates underground in the upper reaches and becomes underground water that naturally gushes out here. The running water from the crab pond irrigates the rice fields within the Kamimori area, and the spring water from around Aza Moroshita and Kaneda is collected and drained into the Kankei River in the southeast of the Mori village using a gutter pipe. The water at the end of the cave is called ``Chizumi Ice'' and is used as irrigation water to cultivate and nourish the land in the Chizumi district of Yokkaichi City, and is still used as water for daily life in the same area. I went on a sunny afternoon. Since it is the water source for Chizumi irrigation water, the water, gravel, and aquatic plants are all very clean. This is an irresistible spot for spring water lovers. On the way back, I could see the waterway where the water gushing out from here was calm and had a nice atmosphere.

I went there because it was featured in the newspaper. It's a very beautiful irrigation canal. Medaka etc. were swimming. There was a photo of carp swimming in the newspaper, but I couldn't make out where it was.

The crab pond is the water source for the Chishikyo water located in the middle of the rice fields. The location is a little difficult to find, but if you go to the area where the greenhouses are lined up, you will see a sign and a place where several cars can be parked. Follow the narrow concrete walkway on the left as you face the waterway to reach the pond. In fact, this crab pond was apparently located 200 meters west of its current location before the area was rezoned for rice fields, but due to the rezoning, it was moved to its current location. It is said that the old pond was very deep and water was gushing out more actively than it is now.

It is said to be the source of the Chizumi irrigation water. I went there in the middle of winter, and there were several small fish a few centimeters wide in the clean water that was several meters square.
