It was very scenic ride up the side of the mountain. Even though we ran into some clouds at the top, it was still a very beautiful experience.

I rode the Hakkoda Ropeway. I knew I couldn't walk around the area because there were bears, but I was able to see a beautiful view and it was a very nice memory.

The ropeway in the wintertime is also the lift for skiers and snowboarders which made the wait time extra long even though arriving at 9am when they opened. It is quite beautiful at the top and the snow monsters are a definite must see when visiting Hakkoda. We also visited during the weekend which probably is busier as well.

Go! Go!! Go!!! Amazing views!!! This is the longest ropeway I've been on, with the possible exception of Snowbird Utah in the USA. But the surrounding views of green trees with blue mountains in the distance are so vast on a clear day. It's incredible! I imagine the changed colors of tree leaves in autumn, and the endless white snow monsters in winter are unforgettable. (I've only been in the summer.) ☀️ I think the adult cost was 2,000 yen. (Snowbird is like 3-4 times that price!)

Visit in spring time this year. Still have a bit of snow on the mountain top. JR Bus only a few per day and better to track the time table. Beautiful and not too busy.
