A samurai residence located on the grounds of Kaikokan. It appears to have been a private residence until 1935. Admission is free. There is a cafe corner where you can enjoy matcha and Japanese sweets sets and soft drinks. There is also a spacious and beautiful Japanese garden, so you can enjoy it even if you just take a break without using the cafe corner. There are times when there are people and times when there aren't, so be careful when using the cafe. There was no one there when I visited. I would like it to operate as a cafe with as many people as possible.

Shunrantei is a samurai residence that was built over 400 years ago. A cafe with a hearth. I bought a 1,000 yen ticket for 6 facilities, so I got a coffee for 250 yen, a 50 yen discount. Drinking coffee at a samurai residence is something special.

The background music is the sound of the wind, the voice of a warbler, and the sounds of nature. It was a very nice space.

It is the only samurai residence from the mid-Edo period onwards that is open to the public. It would be nice to have a place to rest between tours of the town. It's hot outside, but once you're inside, the breeze from outside feels cool, giving you the comfort of a samurai residence. I just wanted to lie down (lol) and was so relaxed and soothed by the comfortable space. If you show the ticket for all 6 facilities, you can get 50 yen off the price ( *˙ω˙*)و Good!

Sitting by the hearth of a samurai residence and enjoying a drink while feeling the flow of the times is the best! ! Although you cannot tour the space used for the cafe, you can also tour the mezzanine floor where you can see the attic, so it was very interesting and different from a normal samurai residence! !
