Beautiful place with a carpark to stop and admire the sea, with a picturesque bridge. Picture of this second bridge is taken from the park located near the first bridge.

2013/09/22 Visited on December 10, 2017. This bridge, affectionately known as the "Sun-beckoning Bridge," was completed in March 2013. The length between the arches is 280m, and the central part of the arches was erected all at once using one of Japan's largest maritime crane vessels. The weight of this suspended load is approximately 3,500 tons, equivalent to the weight of 20 jumbo jets.

The Ondo Ohashi Bridge is literally the second bridge that connects the Kegoya and Ondo districts of Kure City. The first bridge that was built a long time ago was unique in that it allowed vehicles to climb to a high place in a loop, but this bridge is now popular in that it allows vehicles to climb up a slope from a distance. Therefore, the approach to the bridge is characterized by the atmosphere of a highway exclusively for cars. The first bridge is close to the townscape of Ondo, and you can truly feel the atmosphere of an island in the Seto Inland Sea and the fast currents, while this bridge offers a beautiful view of the blue, expansive ocean similar to the Shimanami Kaido. If you are coming from the Ondo side, you can use the restaurant, souvenir shop, and restroom. It is not possible to enter from the Kegoya side.

This is the second bridge that connects Kure City and Kurahashi Island, and is an arch bridge that connects Ondo-cho Toko, Kure City, and Kegoya, Kure City. It has the fourth longest span length of an arch bridge in Japan, and thanks to this bridge, traffic congestion around the Dai-ichi Ondo Ohashi Bridge has been eased. In the P area, there is a footpath that connects the up and down P, commonly known as the Third Ondo Ohashi Bridge.

There is a parking lot on the island side, and the sea view from here is nice. If it's not hazy, you can see the Prince Hotel in Moto-Ujina in the direction of Hiroshima City. It's also nice to watch the ships sailing through the Ondo Seto.
