One of the largest storehouses in Japan This armored storehouse was completed in 1848 at the end of the Edo period, and is designated as an important cultural property along with the Ishikawa Gate and Sanjyukken Nagaya. After the Meiji era, it was used by the army as a clothing store. The building has a nice exterior, but I couldn't go inside.

⭐️There are three existing buildings/nationally designated important cultural properties in Kanazawa Castle, one of which is the "Tsurumaru Soko", the others are "Ishikawa Gate" and "Sanjyukken Nagaya", and the current Tsurumaru Warehouse was built by Perry on his arrival. Built 5 years ago in 1848/1st year of Kaei❗️ ⭐️It was much bigger and more impressive than I had imagined from looking at the photo. It is the largest existing storehouse in a modern castle, and compared to Nijo Castle's rice storehouse and Osaka Castle's Shoten Storehouse and Kinzo, it is a two-story storehouse with the largest floor area.It is really big. ‼ ️ ⭐️On the south side of "Tsurumaru Warehouse", the stone wall below the Honmaru/Ushitora Yagura ruins is an old field area from the early days of Kanazawa Castle, and it has an atmosphere, I want you to take a look 👀

This is a weapons warehouse for the Kaga Kanazawa domain that was completed in 1848 at the end of the Edo period. After the Meiji period, it was used as a clothing store for the army. The Tsurumaru Warehouse is the largest storehouse in Japan, with a vertical floor area of 636 square meters. The picture in the photo is a picture of the procession of sankin kotai from Kanazawa to Edo. It is said that a total of 2,000 to 4,000 people traveled from Kanazawa to Edo, taking about two weeks each way. National important cultural property. access 25 minutes walk from JR Hokuriku Shinkansen, JR Hokuriku Main Line, IR Ishikawa Railway, Kanazawa Station From Kanazawa Station, take the Kanazawa Flat Bus Timber Route and walk from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Station stop for 6 minutes. From Kanazawa Station, take the route bus and get off at the Kenrokuen-shita/Kanazawa-jo Station stop, then walk 5 minutes. By car, it takes at least 15 minutes to the center of Kanazawa city on the Hokuriku Expressway from Kanazawa Morimoto Interchange, Kanazawa East Interchange, and Kanazawa West Interchange, to 25 minutes taking into account traffic congestion.

This armored storehouse was completed at the end of the Edo period, and is also designated as an important cultural property. It is one of the largest storehouses in Japan remaining within the castle walls. After the Meiji period, it was apparently used by the army as a clothing warehouse. By the way, there is a large hole in the stone wall nearby, but between the Meiji and Showa eras, Kanazawa Castle was under the jurisdiction of the Army. It seems that it was opened to transport supplies such as ammunition made at that time.
