It seems that it was given to Odate from Shibuya due to the loyal dog Hachiko. It seems that it was originally used as a tourist information center in Shibuya, and the "i" tourist information center mark still remains on the side of the car. 2023/10/15 Visit

I happened to pass by this place on my way home from Odate for work. I could see a conspicuous green train from a distance, so I approached it thinking it might be the case, and it turned out to be the first generation of the nostalgic Tokyu 5000 series. This vehicle was operated by Tokyu Corporation (currently Tokyu) from 1954 to 1986. When I was a child, my cousin lived along the line, so I rode this green train many times. This vehicle was used as a "tourist information center" in front of Shibuya Station since 2006, but was moved here in 2020. Unfortunately, it was rusted everywhere due to the sadness of being an outdoor exhibit.

It is attached to Akita Inu no Sato. Commonly known as "Blue Frog" that used to be located in Shibuya. It seems that Tokyu vehicles were brought here. The inside of the company is now open to the public, and there are displays showing the relocation process, vehicle introductions, and video images. Although it was a hot day outside when I visited, the inside of the office was air-conditioned and comfortable. You can tour for free.

I used to go to Odate from time to time, but I had no idea that something like this was made there. It's located near the Akita Inu no Sato building, so I took a look inside. On rainy days, it may not be possible to go inside and take a tour due to preservation maintenance.

You can tour for free. It was displayed at Shibuya Station. Several years ago, it was removed from Shibuya Station and transported to Odate. You can watch the video recording the whole thing on the train. This is a meaningful video. When I was in Tokyo, I didn't realize this train existed. It is now available for everyone to watch in Odate.
