We visited the place on November 16, 2023. It is open to the public for a week only. We checked the website to make sure the opening hours. This garden is inside Niiyama Shrine. Even if this garden is not open, the shrine is worth a visit with its equally pretty autumn colors. There are small stalls on the way to the garden and the shrine, giving a very pleasant atmosphere. People said it was warm this year and thus the leaves had not turned red enough yet, but I loved the different colors of yellow, orange, red, and even green.

Peaceful. Not commercial. Great place to wind-down.

Visited on 2023.11.21. The coloring of the autumn leaves 🍁 is not so good. Maybe it will be a little later. It was discolored in some places. Nibisan Shrine might be more beautiful. Parking lot costs 500 yen. There is a free shuttle bus from Yoshinogari Historical Park🅿️. There were a lot of them even on weekdays. Entrance fee to Kunen-an is 500 yen. There are many steps, including stepping stones, so wheelchairs are not allowed to enter. Strollers too. Be careful as it is a little slippery. In addition, there are stalls, monkeys running around, and views from the bridge. We also received a goshuin stamp at the shrine and took a walk around Jizo-in Temple. Well, I quite enjoyed it. 🤗
