Admission fee is 300 yen for adults. There is a restaurant next door, and in other halls you can experience making pottery, making stone pendants, clocks, painting, etc.

There was a stone lantern made of Kimachi stone. The design was also nice. I can't afford it, but I imagined having one in my garden. It was great to learn about the history of Kimachi Stone. The raccoon object was also nice.

This is a museum where you can experience the history of Kimachi stone, which can only be found in the Kimachi area of Shinji-cho, Matsue city. The stone tunnel that leads to the museum has a dynamic atmosphere that makes you feel like you can go on an adventure. After passing through the tunnel, there was an open plaza where a museum appeared. An event was being held at the time, so the children had fun answering quizzes. At the workshop near the parking lot, we had the opportunity to try making pendants using precious Kimachi stones. The children chose the shape of a magatama due to the local characteristics of Shimane, and while sweating, they punched a hole in it. They looked happy with the decorations. If your group is small, you don't need to make a reservation, so feel free to stop by. It was a great experience for tourists coming from far away. I'll bother you again!

At the memorial museum, you can learn about the stone cutting and processing process. At the site, you can see up close the vertical walls where the stone was quarried, and enter the hand-carved tunnel.

It is said to have been a former quarry, but it is a wonderful place where you can feel a unique and extraordinary atmosphere. There is also a restaurant with a calm interior (it seems better to make a reservation in advance). We recommend that you visit once, see the scenery, and get a feel for the atmosphere.
