It was okay, but most shops were closed, so a bit of a zombie town. Nice buildings to look at but there isnt much to do there.

Interesting house, seems like the decorations were likely done by very high hand painters from Nagasaki given the trading connection had a great time talking to an amateur historian.

A post town I never knew about even though I passed by it from time to time! I saw it on SNS and was very interested, so my husband and I visited. There is a free parking lot along the river. Thank you. Perhaps because of the scorching midsummer sun, there aren't many people around even though it's a holiday lol The road is a mix of private houses and traditional buildings, many of which are designated as important cultural properties, and their exteriors have been preserved. The road is also wide enough for cars to pull off.It seems that it was expanded during the Meiji era. There are some buildings that are open for free. There are two female guides at the Nishioka Residence, a nationally designated important cultural property, who will show you around. "I can't talk in as much detail as the guide because I'm only giving information." Although he was humble, I learned a lot from him by explaining the structure, interior, and history of the area, and it was fun. As you stroll around, the residents of the road will greet you in a friendly manner. There are several cafes and general stores. There is also a free rest area, and you can cool down quickly with an air conditioner, so you don't have to worry about the hot summer days. Guide maps are also available everywhere.

It is located along National Route 498 from Takeo City to Kashima. I think it's a good idea to take a break during the drive and take a leisurely walk. It's a nice and quiet place that makes you feel like you've traveled back in time. 🅿The parking lot is located next to Sugimitsu Ceramics Shop.

I stopped by before noon on a weekday, but I didn't meet many tourists. I felt a little lonely, but I'm glad I went because I was able to take a leisurely look around the city.
