Great price. Lots of area for kids to run around. They have restaurants and food trucks outside. It's a very nicely built museum. Great for family or adults. Take just over an hour train ride and a local but from fukui station. Highly recommend if you are in this area. Not as good as the dinosaurs museum in Calgary.

The drive from Nagoya to Fukui was nothing short of magical. Hands down my most favourite drive, ever. We needed so many more hours to see everything so we’ll have to come back. Really loved being able to walk underneath the TRex and Brontosaurus. That was amazing!! Also, we really loved being able to watch the workers cleaning the fossils through the window. A must for anyone interested in Palaeontology or just wanting to do some different. The countryside is truely breathtaking.

My third-grade self was excited to go to the museum. My attention was held throughout the earth science exhibit leaning and relearning about tectonic plates and subduction. The fossils, the original point to go, were less exciting failing to hold the attention of someone 50 years past 3rd grade. The evolutionary charts before many of the fossils were engaging and is what kept me traveling between the old bones.

My toddler and I had a great time! Tickets and food were reasonably priced. Food is good. Accessibility is great. Bathrooms on every floor. Strollers are free to use inside the building. The permanent exhibit is amazing! So much to see! Most of the exhibit has English translations. There is a huge playground nearby to help young ones release energy. There is also a fossil dig experience available. Re-entry is free all day! The dinosaur park ( separate ticket) next door is fun and geared towards kids. While both are so cool the museum is more educational, while the dino park is more just for fun. It also has a huge playground next door.

No matter your interest of dinosaurs, you will find this place very interesting. They have real fossils, and very realistic recreations and stories of the several corresponding animals from earths past. Very cool!
