Pretty neat old buildings of trading merchants company of the area. There are museum exhibits in some of these buildings.

August 18, 2024 It was better maintained than when I came a long time ago. There is an entrance fee, but I don't think it's expensive if you think of it as a contribution to preserving the townscape. There is also a free parking lot, so it is easy to access. The explanation from the person in charge was kind. There is also an explanation of Somin Mirai that I saw at Hinichikan here. Yamada Habuki was interesting.

This is a museum-like place in Kawasaki, which once flourished as a wholesale district. It is a very valuable place, as it was not damaged during the war, and the buildings from that time remain intact. You can tour the inside for 350 yen for adults and 200 yen for high school students. First, the receptionist explained the inside very carefully, so I was able to tour the building and exhibits with knowledge and deepen my understanding. There is a cafe in a converted storehouse and a sales corner for miscellaneous goods, making it a place where you can relax and enjoy your time. The reprint cider (220 yen) had a very nostalgic taste for people born in the Showa era. Other items on sale include clear files (4 types, 330 yen each). There are several parking spaces along the river. (free)

Visited on a Monday in December. You can learn about one aspect of Ise's history, and you can feel the history as well, which is quite worth seeing. I was very impressed with the staff's kind and courteous explanations and responses. It takes 15 minutes by taxi from Naiku and costs about 2,000 yen. It takes about 20 minutes to leisurely walk to Kintetsu Ise-shi Station. It's fun to stop at Japanese sweets shops, second-hand bookstores, and dry goods stores along the way.

I stopped by the bakery. The black boards that make up the unique streetscape are not burnt cedar, but are painted with soot and fish entrails. I asked the curators a lot of questions about this, and they answered me very carefully. I learned a lot.
