Information as of Wednesday, April 10, 2020. The weather is mostly sunny, a change from yesterday's heavy rain. The cherry blossoms are in full bloom for eight minutes, so it's a little early for them to be in full bloom, but the street is lined with cherry blossoms for about 1km. There are two parking lots, one large and one small, in addition to Sakura Park. You need to go back to the street and turn right just before the road crosses the red bridge. There is also a parking lot for the Okozu Museum in the back, but this seems to fill up first. The cherry blossoms are beautiful, but you can walk along the path above the new radial gate type movable weir, and when you get to the movable weir you can see the size of the Okozu watershed and the Niigata Plain (Echigo Plain), a lowland full of lagoons. ) You can experience the role of water diversions in protecting the area from flooding. If you visit not only the cherry blossoms but also the movable weir and the Shinano River Okozu Museum, you will be able to learn about flood control and be very useful. The problem with viewing cherry blossoms is that on weekdays when there are no events, cars come from both directions on the narrow roads, so if you are bringing small children or have difficulty walking, you will need to be very careful. Although it is not suitable for viewing cherry blossoms, we went up to the embankment halfway to walk to be safe.

A park established adjacent to the Okawazu watershed cherry blossom trees. During the cherry blossom viewing season, it is used as a parking lot for people who come to see the cherry blossom trees. Of course, there are various types of cherry blossoms planted within the park, which please the eyes of visitors🌸. There is play equipment, so you can let your kids play if they are tired of watching the cherry blossoms.

Parking is spacious and nice There are also play equipment and many children are brought along. If you walk back and forth from here to the vicinity of Bunsui Station, You will get a lot of exercise while looking at the beautiful cherry blossoms.

April 4th: The cherry blossoms are in full bloom, and the row of cherry blossom trees stretches for 1km along the river (apparently another 1km across the bridge), so you can enjoy the cherry blossom viewing by taking a leisurely walk. There seems to be an event called Shusui Oiran Dochu on April 16th, and if it's sunny, I think it'll be a good time to see the snowflakes. The parking lot is located in the center of the park and can probably accommodate about 100 cars (it was free today). There appear to be three other parking lots.
