Kyoto Tower is a simple yet mesmerizing landmark, especially enchanting when viewed at night. The tower's unique color effects create a captivating spectacle, making it a perfect subject for nighttime photography. Though we didn't get a chance to experience the observation deck, the view from the ground level was more than enough to leave a lasting impression. Located right in front of Kyoto Station, the tower's central location makes it an easily accessible and convenient spot for tourists. Its modern design stands in beautiful contrast to the historical and traditional surroundings of Kyoto, providing a unique blend of old and new. The tower's proximity to the bustling Kyoto Station area, with its array of shops and dining options, adds to its appeal. Even without ascending to the observation deck, the sight of Kyoto Tower illuminated against the night sky is a highlight of any visit to the city. In summary, Kyoto Tower offers a remarkable visual treat, especially at night, making it a must-see landmark in Kyoto. Its accessibility and striking appearance make it deserving of a five-star rating.

The only tall building in Kyoto... We visited the top of the tower at night. Overall it was ok for the value. N a must but since if there's nothing much to do at night, U could just sit n enjoy the view The views were nice but you probably won’t stay long. It’s maybe a 20-30 minute ordeal. Once you see it, you are done There's a sky lounge on the way down. It’s got views and you can drinks n relax too

Cute place to visit. Very kid friendly with free binoculars to use. They take your picture at the end and print a calendar as a souvenir.

From a distance this is a beautiful color changing tower. However, if you’ve been to Tokio Skytree than I would not recommend buying a ticket to go to the observation deck (900¥). The view is really disappointing, skyline of Kyoto is nothing if you compare it with Tokyo.

Kyoto Tower, the sole tall landmark building in Kyoto, is located close to Kyoto Station. We stayed at the Thousand Hotel which is very close to the Kyoto Tower as well. We said hi, good morning, good afternoon and good night to Kyoto Tower whenever we walked by to and from our hotel. We could not visit the observatory deck at the Kyoto Tower due to our tight schedule in Kyoto. In any case, we had an awesome night view of the Kyoto tower (from a distance though!)) blends harmoniously with the mesmerizing city view at one of our night tours. One thing though the Kyoto Tower is not as busy as the other popular towers in Japan such as Tokyo Tower, Tokyo Skytree, Osaka Tower. You can enjoy the city views peacefully and calmly. The entrance fee is at a reasonable rate of 900 yen. One tip for you to have a closer and astonishing view of the Kyoto Tower and the panoramic city view is from the uncrowded Skyway at the Kyoto Station. Strolling leisurely on the bridge and admiring the mind blogging modern futuristic structure is unbelievably therapeutic. It is free to walk on the Skyway. The reason why I recommend to visit the Skyway both during the day and at night time cause you can see a clear panoramic day view and awe-inspiring night view complimented with the disco lights at the bridge. You can take either the escalators or elevators to the Skyway. A hidden gem within the Kyoto Station. Also you can take uniquely distinctive reflection photos from the 4/F platform of Kyoto Station. Just place your camera lens close to the ground level of the right side wall and click….. See the gorgeous photos I took. If you visit Kyoto Station try this photo trick on 4/F. For sure you won’t be disappointed. If time permits, take both day and night photos of the Kyoto Tower for your memorial album. A separate review on Kyoto Station will follow soon.
