It is a wonder such a sand dune is found in Japan. You can consider visiting the viewer platform, taking the lift and arrive there. After crossing and climbing the sand dune, you will find the meeting point of dune and sea and the view from the top of sand dune is awesome. I will try to visit again in winter, when snow, sand and sea meets each other.

Car Park here available. Have Free parking in the back store, and also have public parking for 500Yen in beside the sand dune. Place is good, but hard to visit. i see there is a bus to this place, just check google how to get here.

It’s a desert in Japan how rare is that. It’s pretty cool since its also near the beach side. There is no entry fee but there are rules to follow so make sure to read some of it while climbing the stairs and some of the signs have it as well. They have some activities that you’ll be able to do as well but they are seasonal.

Well, one more highlight in Japan and I must say it got to meet my expectations. For some reason I had imagined it was going to be a small-sand-mountain kind of disappointment, but they’re actually pretty big and walking around them isn’t an easy job, specially if it’s done in the midst of the summer. The views from the top with the sea in front were great.
