In May 2024, I boarded a regular cruise that took 50 minutes to tour the Uchikawa River and visited 12 bridges. If the weather is nice, we recommend seating on the outboard deck.
The weather was also nice and the Tateyama mountain range was clearly visible. It may look more beautiful in early autumn and winter because the air is clearer, but in winter the water level tends to rise more easily, making it impossible to pass under bridges, which may lead to cancellations.
I really enjoyed the view from the boat, which was difficult to see from land.
Uchikawa sightseeing & 12 bridges tour 50 minutes course
Adult 1800 yen
I went cruising on a Saturday in June.
It was a very hot day, so I stayed inside the ship to take advantage of the sunshine, but halfway through I moved to a seat on the outside deck.
As I passed under the 12 bridges and enjoyed the townscape, the people of the town waved at me, which gave me a very warm feeling.
.
The exhilaration I felt when I stepped out into the Sea of Japan was very pleasant.
Highly recommended if the outboard deck is available.
The scenery was amazing and it was better than I expected.
I boarded the ship on August 5, 2023.
Perhaps because it was a hot day, we were the only ones on the first boat at 10am, and it was a private boat.
It was very nice to sail under the Shinminato Ohashi Bridge, go up the Uchikawa River, and see the charming cityscape along the river.
You pass through many bridges, and there are some places where the hull is just on the edge, making it quite thrilling.
Even after leaving Toyama Bay, the waves were calm and the Tateyama mountain range, centered on Mt. Tsurugidake, was clearly visible in the distance.
The sailors were also very kind and I had good memories.
It is recommended! ️
Venice in Toyama! I went to visit the Uchikawa 12 Bridges in Shinminato! 1800 yen per adult. It was quite a price, but I was satisfied with it. The outbound route up the river in the direction of Kawa-no-Eki was on the river, so it was a smooth ride with almost no shaking! There were various bridges, people walking along the river waved to me, and time passed slowly. On the return trip, we headed out to sea and returned to the starting point, but it was a bit shaky. The magnitude of the shaking will depend on the weather... I had a good time.
⭐️Be careful of the tide level⭐️
After seeing a program by animal photographer Mitsuaki Iwago, I wanted to ride this sightseeing boat, so I decided to give it a try.
I was able to safely meet Vice Captain Mi-chan, who was on the show, and she was so cute, so it was a good way to spend the time while I was waiting.
*The staff said that Mi-chan won't get angry if you touch her head.
So, it's a sightseeing boat, and as I write this in August 2022, the schedule is to depart at 14:30 and 15:30, every 30 minutes.
The store is open until 16:00, so 15:30 is likely the last departure time. (If you are arriving in the evening, it may be a good idea to check in advance what time the last flight departs.)
Also, I found out after I went that the cruise route would change if the tide level was high, and normally the cruise route would be to go into the Uchikawa and barely pass under the bridge, which was about a 50 minute cruise. It seems that if the road is too high, it will be difficult to pass through, so it will be a short route of about 30 minutes.
In this case, I was very grateful that the boarding fare was discounted.
Therefore, if you are planning to go on a cruise with your family and you can get a good deal, it is a good idea to go on a day when the tide level is high.If you want to be sure to pass under the Uchikawa bridge, check the tides carefully and plan accordingly. I think it's good.
The view from the boat was pretty good, and looking up at the bridge from below was very impressive. The kids seemed to be having fun feeding the seagulls, and the seagulls came all over the place, so we had a lot of fun.
