You're supposed to buy a 200yen ticket at the restaurant across the street, but nobody is there to check. Small price to pay to see the inside of a sintering hut, otherwise little to see. Takes all of 5 min. Not really worth it unless you are curious where bath salts come from.

Definitely worth the 200¥ entrance fee, no crowds, relaxing, fun to explore. 10/10 recommend. 🥰

Nice village above Beppu. Take the bus and you'll be there in half an hour. Enjoy. Buy daily bus ticket at Beppu station

I had some time left while waiting for the bus. At that time, there was an old lady at the entrance, so I paid the admission fee and went in. If you look at the Yunohana Onsen souvenir shop up here, wash up in the public bath, stop by here, take a look at the scenery, and eat a steamed pudding across the street, you've seen the whole alum hell. There is nothing special, but there are some places where hot water gushes out and mud flows out, and it has a different taste from other hell hot springs. It's something to see for just 200 to 100 yen. However, I was quite satisfied with the footbath in the middle, so considering the fee for using the footbath, it seemed like an appropriate amount. The water is pretty hot. In the summer, it's humid and the smell of sulfur is strong, so I feel like I'm being tortured... You can get a foot bath hot spring stamp.
