Amazing park and beautiful experience! Great for families with kids but also couples, or coming alone is anyway a good idea. I recommend for visitors to stay at a hotel in Nikko, we traveled 4 hours to go to Edo Wonderland. Trains don’t have a good connection, but we made it to the park at 10.00 am and enjoyed all the activities that they offer. Make sure you watch the ninja show, it was the best!

If you want to time travel back to the Edo period, head to the Edo Wonderland in Nikko. You and your family can rent a pricey kimonos and walk around the entire park. The adventure continues with various trainings such as shuriken throwing and bow & arrow. Every game costs money, so bring lots of cash! My kids enjoyed the samurai and ninja training and I enjoyed taking pictures of them. As you walk around there are random Edo period samurai street fights that happens and it was very entertaining. My favorite was the Edo water show at the theater. We sat on the ground and watched it just like how people in the Edo period watched. My only complaint is that everything costs so much even after we paid for the admission fee. Some of these events and activities should be free. Overall, we definitely enjoyed our day. This place is stroller friendly as well too.

A wonderful peek into Japan's past. The staff are friendly and engaging, the actors and actresses professional and passionate, and the activities and exhibitions educational and entertaining. Plan to be there from open to close, no half days will cut it! Buying tickets online in advance can get you a small discount.

Expected so much more. You will need to know some Japanese for some of the shows if not you won't understand what's happening. All the experiences(ninja, samurai training etc) inside you have to pay extra and are not included in the entrance fee. If you go after 2pm, the entrance fee is lower but you will miss the geisha parade. Food inside is also pricey. Good if you know Japanese and want to cosplay but otherwise, really just meh.

Amazing theme park. Get to experience Japan how it was during the edo period. The actors were super friendly, accommodating, and excellent at showing how it was back during that time period. Plenty of shows, arts and crafts, and food to eat. Definetly reccomend to come and visit. Kid are definetly welcomed and lots of activities for kids as well.
