Lake Biwa Yoshibue Road

It is one of the large-scale bicycle roads with approximately 130 locations nationwide (two in Shiga Prefecture). From the south side of West Lake, it becomes a full-fledged cycling road without running parallel to the motorway. It feels very nice, but there is a lot of garbage.

I rented a regular bicycle from a bicycle rental shop in front of Omihachiman Station and rode around. Because it was flat, even people of average physical strength could run. This is a cycling road where you can feel the natural value of West Lake. Perhaps due to the timing, there were a lot of insects flying around on the way, so I brushed them off with my hands as I pedaled.

This is a well-maintained, quiet cycling road. I happened to find this road on my way back from Hachimanbori and ran all the way to the Notogawa River. It had a different atmosphere from the shore of Lake Biwa, and I was able to run very comfortably.

I went cycling. The scenery is nice and there are few cars so it's easy to ride, but the bike path was damaged so I wish it could have been improved a little more.

Bicycle path. The lakeside to the west offers beautiful views and allows you to enjoy a refreshing bike ride. In addition, reeds grow thickly on the lake side.
