A perfect place to enjoy early blooming sakura. There is no tourists here, so we are free to take as many photos as we want. The beauty and sense of transquility here has some healing effect. The town is quiet and peaceful as well. To get here, just follow the train schedule on the Google Maps. There are some stop and change train on the same line. So it is helpful to know some Japanese.

Very nice sakura path along the river. Peaceful and not so crowded place to enjoy early blooming sakura. You may go to the end of the treeline to avoid other visitors. It was a bit far away from Tokyo, but it was worth it. Pictures were taken on 10 March 2024.

Beautiful Kawazu cherry blossoms can be seen along the river just a short walk from Tobu Washinomiya Station towards Washinomiya Shrine. I walked along the river until the cherry blossoms stopped, and it took about an hour to walk there and back. It's probably about 1.5 kilometers long, which is amazing. However, the surrounding area is a quiet residential area and not a tourist spot, so most of the people walking around were locals and I was the only outsider (^^; On the way back, I visited Washinomiya Shrine and then headed back home.

This year (2024), the number of people who have been featured in the Saitama Shimbun and are taking a walk is increasing. The Washinomiya Shrine parking lot is congested on Saturdays and Sundays, so we recommend the Washinomiya Branch parking lot (free of charge). It's a bit of a walk, but within walking distance.

I went there on March 3rd, so about 80% of the flowers were in bloom. I took the wrong train and arrived later than planned around 11am. There were many people walking leisurely, but it was very crowded! Not really. The yellow rape blossoms and pink cherry blossoms are very spring-like, and I think it's a nice spot for a walk on a sunny day. However, the river is rather dirty, or rather, not clear, so...umm. It's a road that runs alongside residential buildings, so I think it's best for those who go to enjoy it without making too much noise or causing any inconvenience. I understand that you want to take a photo with a beautiful scenery in the background, but the road is not wide enough to avoid traffic from one end of the road to the other. It would be helpful if you could take a look.
