An imposing Japanese building located along the Nagase River. If you look at this and look around at other houses, you can see how amazing this building is. The private residence of Heizo Mori, the founder of Shoin Gakuen. It has now been preserved under the name Shotokukan, and six of the buildings have been designated as nationally registered tangible cultural properties. Nagase River flowing in front. A promenade lined with cherry blossom trees. It is one of the most beautiful areas in Higashiosaka City. Also, before the war, the Imperial Cinema film studio was located here. At that time, this place was called the ``Hollywood of the East,'' and the site boasted a vast area of 170,000 tsubo. But the glory was short-lived. One late night in September 1930, the filming studio burst into flames due to an electrical leak and was completely destroyed. Although it is now in a different building, the views of the Ikoma Mountain Range and the flow of the Nagase River remain the same, and if you close your eyes, you can imagine famous actors and film crews busily walking back and forth in front of the main gate.

``Shotokukan'' was built in 1945 as the private residence of Heizo Mori, the founder of Shoin Gakuen and a lumber merchant. After being donated to the school posthumously, in 2000 (Heisei 12), six items, including the main building, storehouse, shrine, gate, east wall, and south wall, were designated as nationally designated as "things that have become standards for modeling and are not easy to reproduce." It has been registered as a registered tangible cultural property. This valuable building, which retains a strong Taisho modern feel, is only opened to the public once every four years.

It was a valuable experience as you only get to go there once every four years. The architectural technology that gives you a sense of history was amazing.
