DO NOT visit this 'Hell'. It was included in my book of the 7 Hells and unfortunately I didn't know exactly what to expect before I entered. There are countless crocodiles crammed into tiny enclosures and living in cruel conditions. There is absolutely no need to have these crocodiles here. The rest of the hot springs are tranquil and beautiful, this one is inhumane and cruel. AVOID even if you buy the full book to visit all the Hells, avoid this one.

Didn't expect crocodiles in Japan 😂 but it was the first time I saw them in cities. Geothermally-heated water was very impressive too!

The Mog Champ sends his regards. The fourth jigoku onsen I've been to, where you can see crocodiles just chilling in general. Personally one of the lower end on my list of all the onsens, but I still found it amusing that I can see crocodiles just there in general. It was nice to check them out but I didn't expect seeing this kind of jigoku onsen, it felt a bit colourless but everything was still maintained nicely! Mogliest Regards, Your Mog Champ

We liked this place. It has a big gift shop and a foot bath. There are not many English speakers, but the important signs are in English. I used goggle translate to interpret the signs that we only in Japanese. One of the 7 hot springs we visited on this day. The reptile exhibit was a little sad. So many living in small area.

The worst of the Hells tour Jigokus. There is absolutely no connection between the poor animals and the Jigoku, other than the water being used to heat the water in the tiny cages. The main cage is overcrowded and the suffering of the animals is plain to see. We were appalled to see the conditions in which the animals were being kept.
