It's free so definitely a must visit, you can see almost every part of Sendai from here. Access is a bit tricky, just make sure you're heading towards the Office section of the building and then you will find a single button to call the lift that will bring you up here. Don't make a mistake like I did, I went to the mall and spent 10 minutes wandering around. The observation terrace isn't very big, so you will spend around 20 minutes here max. In the distance, you could find the big Buddha statue also.

This is one of the 2 free observatories in Sendai. This is my 2nd time visit since 2019. The 31F view still incredible..

AER Observation Terrace is located on the 31st floor of the AER building, conveniently adjacent to Sendai Station. It is a free observation deck that is not crowded and offers a great spot for visitors to enjoy the cityscape. During day time, you will spot the busy streets with flow of people, cars and trains. As darkness descends, you will able to see the night city with the famous Hapina street stretching out from the station and separating the city by its light. For the best experience, consider visiting right before sunset. You can witness the beautiful transition of the city from day to night.

Don't miss it if you find some time to spare in Sendai city. You can check out the free observation deck on the 31st floor. It's just a short 5-minute walk away from the station. It does not have the 360 view. But you will find two decks. On one side, you can see the Sendai city, and on the other end, you can watch the Shinkansen and the Pacific Ocean.

Very dirty scratched windows for the view. Not great. Better to take photos out of the window when you come out of the lift on the 31st floor. Not easy to find, no signs. Ask at the information desk in the station and they'll give you a map.
