Wonderful experience coming here! We learned all about silk, right from the beginning with the worms to the threading. They have some crafts you can do too! We did traditional weaving with a look for about 600 yen each. Everyone there was super friendly and helpful!

I was able to see how silk is being made. We were given a detailed explanation of the traditional method of making silk thread. The sight of silkworms creating cocoons is mysterious. Apparently you can try your hand at weaving. Admission is free.

This is a valuable museum that is housed in an old silk mill building, where you can see old machinery in action. It seems that you can experience various things ← I couldn't do it due to lack of time. There is also a cafe inside the building where you can enjoy roll cakes and donuts made with eggs. The price was reasonable and it was delicious!

This is a must-see memorial museum for anyone interested in weaving! On the second floor, various machines are moving. If time permits, you can listen to many stories, from machines to stories from back then. How do you find the first point at which thread is spun from a silkworm cocoon? If you ask me about this, I will be able to teach you by putting it into practice right in front of you. On the first floor, we had a coaster weaving experience. The people who came to try it out seemed to be having a lot of fun and were banging around with the staff. Are there any souvenirs like this? There was also that! Please enjoy.

A spot in Katsuyama. This weaving museum is located in a preserved and utilized building that was open from the Meiji era to the Heisei era, and can be visited for free. It was great to be able to see the looms in action on the second floor.
