This is the ruins of the National Government Office, which was the center of Hizen Province, and has a museum attached to it. It's a small Kokufu ruins, but it's amazing how well it's been maintained, so it's a shame that there aren't many visitors (maybe it was just because it was so hot that there weren't many people there). Please note that the parking lot will be closed even if you arrive early in the morning.

If you are not interested, this is not an interesting place. But it's an interesting place if you're interested. Not popular. There is a recreated gate and ruins. However, you can indulge in history. Hizen Onigawara is charming. Connection from Hizen to Dazaifu and Chikugo. flow. There is a free museum, so you can learn in an easy-to-understand manner. If you want to learn about Hizen, you can't miss this place. You can also learn about the remains of the surrounding area.

The Hizen National Government Office ruins are well maintained. The south gate and the Tsukiji walls on both sides have been restored. Once inside, you can see the remains of the front hall, main hall, and rear hall, and on both sides you can see the remains of the south hall and north hall on the east side, and the remains of the south hall and north hall on the west side. Hizen Kokucho was a government office that was in charge of government for about 200 years from the late Nara period to the early Heian period. Hizen National Government Office was connected to Dazaifu by Saikaido, and it is understood that Kokubunji, Kokubunniji, and Soza were built nearby.

It's free to watch, and only people who are interested in history will come, so I recommend it. It was easy to understand that the Saga Yamato area was a base that played a very important role in ancient times. However, the parking lot was surprisingly overgrown with grass, and I couldn't park my car where I was supposed to park it (lol)

There is a museum with Mahoro-chan's drawings. free entrance. Outside the building is a reconstruction of the old gate. In the past, it must have been a facility for large government officials, but now there are grassy areas and gates where there are residences. I feel like things are in a state of impermanence. There was a goat or something kept near the parking lot.
