The cave itself is enjoyable to look around, and is large. On the grounds of the place there are a number of other attractions such as Koi Ponds, Duck Ponds, Museums and more. Unfortunately the whole place feels a bit run down and, in particular, I was very upset to see the condition of the duck pond which had litter floating around in it. I fed the Ducks, they were very hungry however seemed to be living in poor conditions. Some of the museums on the grounds were dusty and confusing. All in all, based on the cave alone it would be 5 stars, but due to the poor condition of the duck pond I have to reduce the number of stars I give. I hope the owners see this message and improve the conditions of the Ducks home.

The caves were a bit creepy as some others have said, but that may be because I went on my own. Reminded me of the Dragon’s lair in Damsel 😅 honestly not worth the money but there wax a Showa period museum outside the caves which I enjoyed for the nostalgia. Other random museums housed very mediocre collections of art and things that look like they came from grandma’s attic, also some Buddhist statues. There are other activities you can partake in - cave diving (¥15,000), tent sauna + cave pool dipping (¥6500-9000) if you pre-book.

Very cool cave. Pretty big too! It's $40/20 minutes one way in a taxi to get there from Miemachi Station. On site the area is larger than you think, there are other things to see besides just the caves. But you can do it all in 2 hours. The staff there are very nice and will call you a taxi to take you back to the station. You can also go diving in the cave, which we would have done if it wasn't so cold. The gift shop is not very good...I was disappointed there was no cave memorabilia to buy!

If you want a nice easy walk through some caves then yes it is nice. Some random outside stuff to look at. Don't expect too much and you will not be disappointed. Definitely out of the way so will need own car but that is a fun adventure in it self. Plus the Harajiri falls are close so make it a day tour.

The cave is very eerie. They also started to entertain requests to dive within the cave. The showa display was very fondly remembered if you lived through this era.
