Ishigedo Rapids (Oirase Stream) have very clear, beautiful river water stream. There is some souvenir shop and public toilets too.

We went here on 9th November. Very beautiful and amazing view. We brought our children along: 7,5,3 years old and a baby (6 months old) Thankfully it was clear sunny day. I would suggest if you bring kids and using public transport, and next place would be Tokyo: Overnight at Shin-Aomori. Put your luggage and stroller at coin locker or tourist center. Shinkansen Hayabusa will stop at Shin-Aomori and Hachinohe. But bus to Hachinohe is not as frequent as bus to Shin-Aomori (although the trip to Hachinohe is shorter and less crooky roads) The walking trail here is not stroller friendly. So you can bring your baby using baby carrier. We started at Ishigedo check point. There were mini store here that sells soba, ice cream. There were also vending machine that sells drinks. Ishigedo also has toilet and changing diapers room. From here we walked to Makado Rock check point. It took about one hour for our family, plus the time to stop and take pictures and videos, also the time to have snack and drinks. From Makado Rock, we took the bus to Kumoi no Taki. There were beautiful waterfalls upon we getting off the bus. Like twin waterfalls. One big waterfall at the back, and one small waterfall at the front. Not long after we took bus to Choshi Ootaki check point. The view here is awesome! Choshi Ootaki was a very big waterfall. Thankfully the place is not crowded at the time we reached there. There were just us until about 15-20 minutes later a group came stop by. From Choshi Ootaki we walked to Nenokuchi. Bus on November is not really frequent here. But don't worry, while you may need to walk, it won't feel a long walk because the scenery along the trail were so breathtaking and amazing. In no time we found that hey we've reached Nenokuchi! Nenokuchi is where Lake Towada lies and also where we can top up our drinks, have ice cream, have toilets, etc.

Enjoy the tranquility and uncompromising fresh air while walking up the sideway next to the rapids. This time of the year one sees only green. Probably autumn can be more impressive...

Beautiful! It was possible to park by the road and walked along the oirase stream for to have close up view of the beautiful oirase stream. Thoroughly enjoy it!
