Toyama Glass Art Museum

Stunning exhibits in a dynamic building. Very reasonable tickets and kids and students are free. We scheduled a 2 hour layover in our train journey to see the museum and are very glad we did. No photos allowed for some of the exhibits but they were amazing. Gift shop was nice too. Highly recommended.

Well worth the visit on a Saturday afternoon! The artwork in the museum can not be appreciated by looking at photos. Photos are a mere shadow, only a tasting of the real thing. This museum should be on the plans of any visit to Toyama. The cafe is very special, nicely appointed wooden tables with beautiful flowers as artwork in the center. The black Toyama cider was delicious. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Central location in Toyama-shi with a variety of public transports such as local buses and trams, which is very convenient from and to the Toyama Station. Besides having regular and special exhibitions in association with portfolios of glasses, an artistic design of a public library is situated in the building of Glass Museum. Worth to visit both in one go.

Don't expect much, this is an extremely small museum. The building looks huge, but this is a multi purpose public building, consisting of museum, library etc so the museum occupies only two floors. This museum is in fact Dale Chihuly museum, as her art works are the key items and they doesn't have anything else. Her art works can be seen in other places such as the lobby of Atlantis the Palm in Dubai. Nevertheless, you would only spend 15 to 20 minutes here as they have very limited works at display.

The architecture of this museum is stunning. Besides glass exhibition, it is also a library. Quite a nice place for relaxation and time to slow down. P.s. there is a cafe inside the museum.
