A spiritual retreat deep into the mountains that is not exactly a museum but more of an experience type art space for me. Based on the Mandala view of the world, visitors get to experience the Buddhist hell first followed by a serene path to the Buddhist heaven that ends with a view of some actual antelopes (there are also real monkeys near the hell area and warnings of not to go in the forest due to threat of bears) The hell is not frightening but more of an uncomfortable experience with dark areas, a corridor of flashy lights and a narrow path with strange sounds coming out of square holes in the wall. After completing the hell experience it is time to enjoy some peace and meditate in a UFO like object placed at the other end of the park. On the way, you can also enter the rooms and enjoy some good abstract artworks (photography not allowed in some rooms). There is also a nice music room where you can try your hand at some not so common music instruments. After completing the meditation experience, follow the dark tube to go back to the present world. Highly recommended if you are in the area and the entrance fee is quite reasonably priced.

Good for a wet day, half day activity or with children. One of the three centres that you can visit with the all inclusive ticket. Staff took you round some of the items. Given that they were dark and eerie you needed a push down some of the holes other dark holes you were left to find yourself. Sensory exibition described as art reflecting the spirits. A lot of money has been spent on it. Probably not a good exhibition for the old and infirm since alot of crawling, bending and walking in the dark. Gave the rope netting, bouncy feeling a miss. The big bell acoustic chamber was fun and so too the musical instruments.

The most popular place in Tateyama Museum. Still, there weren't many people there at the end of July. This may be because summer vacation in Toyama Prefecture starts in August. Heaven was better than hell. I was able to relax and have lots of fun. You can also try out musical instruments such as playing a gong. It's good to ring the gong once in a while. When I went outside, it was raining and I didn't have rain gear, so I was in a bit of trouble. However, there was a toilet right there, so I took shelter inside the toilet. It was nice to have a toilet!

Tateyama is one of the three sacred mountains and was once famous for its hell tours. This facility expresses that worldview using the latest technology. It felt good. At the end, there is also an experience corner that stimulates the five senses, with worldviews created by several artists. It's a unique experience and expression facility. I also raise serows.

It was better than I expected. I could see from hell to heaven. I enjoyed it for almost 3 hours. Earth's roaring demon, Spirit Bridge, I especially liked the Celestial Egg Palace, It is full of attractions such as a space inspired by the heavens. This is a place you should have plenty of time to visit. The Japanese serow was also cute. He came close. Group rates are available when you present your JAF card!
